Testers Found - Fox's Cutie Pie Square 6x6

TESTERS ARE:  TERI, DEBI, EDITH, ISOLDE, DIANE, ANA LUISA, MARY W. PAULA, MIMI, DEBORAH, CHERIE

Here's a real cutie of a square.  I'd really like to see someone make an afghan with this one so I can post the pictures on the blog.  I think it's just adorable but I guess I'm prejudiced.

Anyone not already testing a pattern for me and wanting to test this pattern follow the directions below:

When I find enough testers I go back and change the title of this posting from Testers Wanted to Testers Found. Before emailing me, please go back and check this link to see if the title has been changed. If the title has been changed, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not email me asking to test.

If you want to be a tester, read the instructions below and let's get started! Remember, everyone who tests any of the patterns will have their picture of the completed tested item shown in the blog next to their name as a tester. So show off your talents. I'd really like it if when I put the pattern up on Ravelry, if each tester or person who works this pattern would add it as a project there so I can post a link to everyone who makes this items pictures.

1. Must be a follower of this blog and a subscriber. Not a follower yet? Sign up. Let me know your follower name.

2. Must be able to finish testing by Friday December 3rd.

3. Must be able to send me a picture of your finished item attached to an email.

4. Must be able to send me errors of any kind you find in the pattern.

5. It'd be a plus but is not mandatory, if you were a member of Ravelry so you can add the project when the pattern opens up to everyone.

6. You can use whatever colors of yarn you'd like and whatever weight of yarn you'd like.  I used 4 ply medium worsted.

If you want to test, send me an email to the address below with your Follower name. Only the first so testers emailing me will receive the pattern to test. Please don't post a comment that you'd like to test. I can't send a copy of the pattern to a "comment." You have to email me as it states.

IF YOU CROCHET THIS ITEM - PLEASE CLICK ON THIS LINK AND ADD YOUR OWN PICTURES AS A PROJECT ON RAVELRY.  http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/free-smoothfoxs-spiral-baby-blanket-nbr-2  JUST CLICK ON THE CROCHET HOOK WITH THE WORDS “HOOK IT” NEAR THE TOP RIGHT SIDE AND THIS WILL ADD YOUR ITEM AS A PROJECT.  THEN YOU CAN ADD THE PICTURES WHEN YOU HAVE COMPLETED YOUR PROJECT.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Blanket is worked in a spiral. Do not join rounds. Do not crochet over unused yarn.

Using color A ch 4, slip st in first ch to form a ring.

Round 1: Ch 4, counts as dc plus ch-1 sp, *(dc in ring, ch 1) repeat 5 total times, pull up loop of yarn, insert st holder, drop color A. (6 dc)

REMINDER - DO NOT JOIN ROUNDS

Round 2: Using color B slip st in ring, ch 4, *(dc in ring, ch 1) repeat 5 total times. (6 dc)

Round 3: Sk 1st dc of color A, 2 dc in ch-1 sp, ch 1, group made *(sk 1 st, 2 dc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1), repeat from * 4 total times; pull up loop, insert st holder in loop, drop current yarn.

Round 4: Pick up color A, tighten yarn slightly, sk 1st color B st, 2 dc in ch sp, ch 1, group made *(sk 1 st, 2 dc in ch-1 sp, ch 1) group made repeat from * 5 total times, **(sk 1 st, dc in next st, 2 dc in ch-1 sp, ch 1) group made repeat from ** 4 total times; pull up loop, insert st holder in loop, drop current yarn.

Round 5: Pick up color B, tighten yarn slightly, sk 1 st, 2 dc in sp, ch 1, *(sk 1st st of group, dc across group to ch sp, 2 dc in ch-1 sp, ch 1) repeat from * around to last group, pull up loop, insert st holder in loop, drop current yarn.

REPEAT ROUND BEGINS

Round 6: Pick up next color of yarn, tighten yarn slightly, *(sk 1st st of group, dc across group to ch sp, 2 dc in ch-1 sp, ch 1) repeat from * around to last group, pull up loop, insert st holder in loop, drop current yarn.

Round 7 thru completion of blanket - Repeat Round 6 continuing with pattern until blanket reaches desired size then follow instructions for finishing. I worked this blanket until I ran out of yarn and couldn't complete another round with what little yarn I had left.  To make this blanket fit a baby larger than a newborn, purchase 2 skeins of yarn of each color

NOTE:
As blanket grows larger, when you get to the last group of each round, instead of stopping, you can keep crocheting up to the point where you catch up with the loop for the next color and drop the current color. Just remember, when you resume with this dropped color of yarn, you must finish off this last group and place the usual 2 dc in the ch sp and a ch 1 before the round is actually complete.

FINISHING:
BEFORE BEGINNING THE LAST ROUND, COUNT EACH GROUP. YOU MUST HAVE THE SAME NUMBER OF STITCHES IN EACH GROUP. IF YOU HAVE BEEN FOLLOWING THE PATTERN, YOU WILL HAVE 11 GROUPS WITH THE SAME COUNT AND THE LAST GROUP NEEDS TO BE COMPLETED UP TO THE LAST 4 STITCHES BEFORE ENDING THE PATTERN.

On final round of color A continue pattern until you have 4 stitches left before the last ch sp, (hdc in next 2 sts, sc in next st, slip st in last st). Finish off.

On final round of color B continue pattern until you have 4 stitches left before the last ch sp, (hdc in next 2 sts, sc in next st, slip st in last st). Finish off.

Testers Found - Again for Spiral Blanket Number 1

TESTERS ARE:  MARCELA, SANDHYA, BONNIE, CAROLYN, H SOO, NORMA

I posted a few weeks back for testers of one of the two spiral blankets I designed.  After most of the pictures were sent in I noticed something I saw as a flaw in the pattern so I've made a change to the original pattern and would like to re-open the testing phase of the pattern again.

Anyone wanting to test the Spiral Blanket Number 1 please follow the directions below:

2. Must be able to finish testing by Friday December 10th.

3. Must be able to send me a picture of your finished item attached to an email.

4. Must be able to send me errors of any kind you find in the pattern.

5. It'd be a plus but is not mandatory, if you were a member of Ravelry so you can add the project when the pattern opens up to everyone.

6. You can use whatever 2 colors of yarn you'd like. Please keep this in mind, if one of the colors is a varigated or striped color, some testers in the prior testing said that using a solid color that matched one of the colors in the striped yarn made the blanket not look like it is a spiral.  If using a varigated yarn I guess you would have the same trouble but that is entirely up to you.

If you want to test, send me an email to the address below with your Follower name. Only the first so testers emailing me will receive the pattern to test. Please don't post a comment that you'd like to test. I can't send a copy of the pattern to a "comment." You have to email me as it states.

Testers Found - Fox's Pineapple Scarf

TESTERS ARE:  MARY, LEAH, MARCELA, LUCILLE, AISHA, VAUGHNDELEE, SHAW, DIANE, GENE, CHERIE, KATY, LAVINA

A few years ago I created a pattern for a pineapple scarf for my mom as a Christmas present.  Then I promptly misfiled the pattern on my computer.  Yesterday, I decided I wanted to make something for myself and I remembered the pattern and searched my computer until I finally found it.  Pineapples are not new.  They are just flat out pretty to me and it works into a great scarf.

If you're currently testing a pattern, haven't turned in your pictures from prior patterns, feel you might have some reason that might interfere with working the pattern in the time frame below, please don't ask to test. There are other people who might want to test and can complete the pattern in the time frame. When I find enough testers I go back and change the title of this posting from Testers Wanted to Testers Found. Before emailing me, please go back and check this link to see if the title has been changed.

2. Must be able to finish testing by Sunday November 28th.

3. Must be able to send me a picture of your finished item attached to an email.

4. Must be able to send me errors of any kind you find in the pattern.

5. It'd be a plus but is not mandatory, if you were a member of Ravelry so you can add the project when the pattern opens up to everyone.

6. You can use whatever colors of yarn you'd like however don't use a striping or varigated yarn.  It will not show up the pattern at all.  I used a large hook but you can use a smaller hook if you want the scarf narrower.  Mine is approx 7" wide.

If you want to test, send me an email to the address below with your Follower name. Only the first so many testers emailing me will receive the pattern to test. Please don't post a comment that you'd like to test nor send a comment through the google feed that sends the updates from this blog. I can't send a copy of the pattern to a "comment." You have to email me as it states.

I need your help

HELP - PROBLEM ONE
I have been using a free service to host the sharing of all of my free files.  Each month I have to make sure that I go to theire website to keep the account active.  The problem is that I am looking to the future when I can't go to the link and click on it once monthly to make sure that all patterns remain available for everyone.  I use the 4share site.

If you are using a file sharing site that is free and that is the main word free, that doesn't require that I go to the site and visit it monthly, please email me and let me know what the name is.  What I'm looking for is a place I can upload each pattern and that gives me at least 10gb of free storage.

HELP - PROBLEM TWO
I need to know if there is a place that testers can upload their test pictures to on the web.  The ideal situation would be that I somehow create a folder at the website for let's say a new pattern that is being tested.  Then as each tester finishes they can post their pictures directly to that website.  Then when I post the pictures to the blog, it is an easier way of doing it than me doing it one at a time through blogger.

HELP - PROBLEM THREE
Many testers are not loading their "projects" on Ravelry.  You don't even have to be a tester.  If you have worked the pattern, please link a project to the pattern.  I've been told that people see their picture that I post of the items and assume they don't need to go post their own projects over there.  Well they do need to post their projects and tie them to the patterns.

The way to do it is to go to Ravelry, find the pattern you tested or crocheted and once you have found my pattern page showing on your computer screen there is a small crochet hook on the right half of the page, you would click on the crochet hook and then enter your information.

HELP - PROBLEM FOUR -
I need your suggestions as to where I can submit the free patterns so that they are available to everyone.  I currently just post them on Ravelry and CrochetPatternCenteral.  If you know where else I can post them, please email me.

NOTE: IF YOU ARE UNFAMILIAR WITH THE DIAGONAL BOX STITCH - HERE IS A VIDEO LINK: CLICK HERE

IF YOU WANT TO SEE MORE PICTURES YOU CAN LOOK AT THIS LINK – THERE ARE SEVERAL PAGES WITH STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS: CrochetCabana

INSTRUCTIONS:
Before starting - if you decide to make a striped blanket, make sure your number of repeats is divisible by 96.  So if you want 3 colors, take 96 divided by 3 and that will tell you how many rows you need to do of each color.  Another example is if you want to change yarn colors every 4 rows, divide 96 by 4 to make sure that you get an even number of repeats.

Row 1: (Right Side): Using color A, ch 6, dc in 4th ch from hook, insert 1st stitch marker between the ch-3 sp and dc just made, dc in next 2 ch. Beginning shell made (1 shell)

Row 2: Ch 6, dc in 4th ch from hook, insert 2ND stitch marker between the ch-3 sp and dc just made, dc in next 2 ch beginning shell made, turn row 1 beg shell and flip beg shell upward, (slip st in first marked st, ch 3, 3 dc) all in first marked ch-3 sp of previous row, shell made. Remove 1st st marker. (2 shells)

Row 3: Beginning shell, turn previous row, *shell; repeat from * across. Remove 2nd st marker. (3 shells)

Row 4: Beginning shell, turn previous row, * shell; repeat from * across. (4 shells)

Rows 5 thru 48: Repeat Row 4 increasing 1 shell each row.

Decrease rows begin

Row 49: Ch 1, turn, slip st in first 3 dc, *slip st into ch-3 sp, shell, repeat from * across shells, slip st in last shell.

Rows 50 thru 75: Repeat Row 49 decreasing 1 shell each row, changing to color B in last st of row 75.

Rows 76 thru 96: Continue using color B and decreasing until you complete the last shell. Finish off.

HOOD:
Using color B work above rows 1 through 21. Finish off.

Holding hood and blanket with right sides together, whip stitch or slip stitch matching stitch to stitch around hood attaching it to blanket. Finish off.

Turn hood inside out so right side is showing.
